Isabella Dotti, PhD · Post-doc



Isabella Dotti, PhD, graduated in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Trieste, Italy, and obtained her PhD in Molecular Medicine in 2008. During this period she was involved in the optimization of molecular analysis in archive tissues. In 2010 she joined the Colorectal Cancer Laboratory (IRB Institute, Barcelona), headed by Eduard Batlle, as a research assistant. There she developed skills in the establishment of in vitro human epithelial stem organoid cultures. In 2012 she moved to the IBD Laboratory (IDIBAPS, Barcelona), headed by Azucena Salas, as a post-doctoral fellow. Her work is currently focused on the use of organoid culture system as a tool to investigate the contribution of the intestinal epithelium in the pathogenesis and perpetuation of inflammatory bowel diseases.
